Welcome to the Texas Energy Law Association

The Texas Energy Law Association (“TELA”) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that supports, promotes, and encourages legal education, research, and writing in the area of energy law. As an alumni association for the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law at the University of Texas (“TJOGEL”), the primary focus of TELA is to act as an advisory and support resource to TJOGEL and its members.

2012 TELA Scholarship Awarded

Congratulations to Cristian Blumm, UT Law Class of 2013 on his award of the first TELA scholarship! We were impressed by Cristian's demonstrated interest in energy law and his significant contributions to TJOGEL as an Assistant Managing Editor. Cristian is spending his 2L summer as summer associate with White & Case, LLP.

Houston Summer Happy Hour Success!

TELA and TJOGEL jointly hosted a happy hour in Houston on Thurday, July 12th at Sambuca downtown. The event was well-attended by both practicing attorneys and law students, and was a great opportunity for UT Law and TJOGEL alumni to stay connected. We were especially honored to have Commissioner David Porter of the Texas Railroad Commission in attendance.
